To understand Spiritual Warfare, we must first learn to understand that man exist in two worlds. The natural world and the spiritual world (1Corinthians 15:40). The natural world is that which can be seen, felt, touched, heard and tasted. The natural world is tangible and visible. The spiritual world cannot be seen by the physical eye, but the spiritual world is just as real as the natural world we live in. Man is body, soul, and spirit. Your spiritual being (soul & spirit) is part of the spirit world just as your body is part of the natural world. Because spiritual warfare is just that – spiritual – it must be understood with a spiritual mind and be spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14). In the spirit world there are two Kingdoms: The Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan.
The kingdom of Satan consists of Satan, spiritual beings called demons, and all men who live in sin and rebellion of God’s Word. The Kingdom of God consist of God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, spiritual beings called angels, and all men who live in righteous obedience to God’s Word. We pray in faith to communicate with God and to call God’s blessings from the spiritual world into the natural world. Satan attacks us spiritually to steal, kill, and destroy any relationship with God. Satan uses tactics to discourage, disrupt, tempt and influence us in any way to go against God’s Word. We rely on the Holy Spirit and God’s Word in spiritual battle to overcome the tricks of the enemy. The enemy will do whatever he can to make us forget that we are children of the Most High God, and we have already been given victory over evil through the shed Blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 6:10-17; 2 Corinthians 10:3-6; Psalm 91:1-16; Luke 10:19; Deuteronomy 28:7; James 4:6-8; 1 John 4:4; 1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Thessalonians 3:3; Joshua 1:9; Romans 8:31-39; 2 Chronicles 20:15; Isaiah 40:31; Romans 12:21; Revelation 12:11; Matthew 18:18-19; John 16:33)
We believe that prayer is direct communication and leads to a relationship with God. Prayer is a dialog with God (two-way communication) and not a monolog (one way communication). God is our Source for all things and prayer is our direct pathway to the Source. Prayer should be our response to every situation we encounter. One way is to make quick, brief prayers your response to every situation. Another way is to order your life around God’s desires and teachings so that your very life becomes a prayer. We should always be in a posture to pray. The fundamentals of prayer are; praying God’s word, praying in the name of Jesus, and praying in faith. One of the main ways to seek God is through prayer. This pillar is lived out within FaithWorks Ministries through Sunday services, bible studies, 6am Friday prayer, prayer calls, prayer requests, community prayer, & 12-hour prayer (New Life). (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6; Romans 8:26; 1 Timothy 2:1-4; Matthew 6:7-13; James 5:16; Psalm 34:17; Luke 11:9)
Purposeful, high-impact community events that serve to evangelize Jesus Christ and meet the unique needs of the community through love. How this is currently lived out at FaithWorks Ministries is through our Free Community Meals (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Baptism Sunday), Free Community Laundry events, Community Unity events, Free Community Baby Shower, Family Month (July), and Friends in the Field. (Jeremiah 1:7; Matthew 25:35-40; Matthew 28:19; Romans 10:14; 2 Timothy 4:2; Isaiah 52:7; 1 Peter 3:15-16; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8; Matthew 10:7-14)
Positions us and strengthens us to live out our mission. We create an atmosphere of reverence and adoration unto God which allows those in attendance to have clarity on God’s direction for their lives; how to execute God’s purpose for their lives by living a worship lifestyle. Through true worship, we believe you can enter the presence of God anywhere. This is lived out through FaithWorks Ministries with Sunday services, bible studies, Sunrise Service, New Year’s Services, and Worship month. (1Chronicles 29:11; Psalm 150:6; Revelation 5:13; Colossians 3:16; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Psalm 95:1-6; John 4:23; Isaiah 12:1-6)
We believe that all Scriptures of the Bible as originally written was written by Holy Ghost-filled men. The Bible is the product of Spirit-controlled men, and is absolute truth without any error. We believe that the Word of God is living and true! We further believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament comprise the only infallible and authoritative rule for faith and practice in the Christian life. As Disciples of Christ, we study the Word, the truth, which guides and enables us to fulfill our mission of reaching the lost and impacting communities. This is lived out through FaithWorks Ministries with Sunday worship services, weekly bible studies, new member discipleship classes, and our ministries (men’s, women’s, children’s, & teens). (Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 33:4; John 1:1; John 1:14; Isaiah 40:8)
